Moto Concorso is a family oriented event, the motorcycle show and social is so structured and situated to offer the most of your day in Monterey.

Moto Concorso Motorcycle Show, presented by the Ducati Vintage Club and Ducati North America. Starts at 9 am and features special guests and displays, all there for your enjoyment. The motorcycles of the Moto Giro America, a five day motorcycle tour and rally, will be displayed as well as local motorcycle and scooter club bikes. See classic and collector motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, rare and collectable racing and road bikes. Visit the “Duc Truck”, the Ducati North America display of classic and new Ducati motorcycles, all free and open the public.


Italian Racing Motorcycles of the Silverman Museum Racing Collection will be on display for your pleasure.  These are rare and seldom seen factory racing bikes, and Ducati Vintage Club is honored to feature these wonderful examples of Italian racing history.

 

Special guests of the Moto Concorso, racing stars and motorcycle legends are there for autographs and special memorabilia is available for viewing.

 

Special Charity Donation Raffle will be held on the plaza to benefit the restoration of the San Carlos Cathedral, the oldest building of its kind of in all of California. A donated “Buddy” motor scooter courtesy of the Genuine Scooter Company and Ducati Vintage Club will be given away to one lucky
ticket holder. You can purchase tickets on the square at the event or on line ahead of time and at the church. The Cathedral was built by Father Junipero Serra the founder of the California missions. (http://missions.bgmm.com/carmel.htm) This is a key site in the history of California and we are pleased to be able to help. We thank Genuine Scooter Company for their generous donation and when looking for a scooter look to “Buddy”. We would also like to thank the Italian Catholic Federation, District 36 and the Italian American Cultural Center of Monterey for allowing the Ducati Vintage Club to offer this scooter to their cause.

The Mid-America Vintage Motorcycle Auction, in the adjacent buildings, Monterey Convention Center, will also get underway at 9 am. Walk over and see all the collector motorcycles for sale at auction. Feel the excitement of the bidding and maybe take home your dream bike! Registration for bidding is available on line or at the door. See www.midamericaauctions.com for more information. Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Some of the best restaurants in all Monterey are located on Old Fisherman’s Wharf just a few steps from the Moto Concorso show site and we encourage you to have lunch on the wharf, enjoy the world famous cuisine of the Monterey coast. 

Monterey Bay Aquarium, (www.mbayaq.org/) this is the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, displaying some of the most interesting of aquatic life that surrounds the historic Monterey bay.

Historic Cannery Row (www.canneryrow.com), famous for its inclusion in Ernest Hemmingway’s classic books, and for its role in California’s fishing industry.

 

The Custom House Plaza is a key historic spot in Monterey’s Historic district and offers tours through early California history. Guided tours of the homes and the first government building of California are featured. Time schedules will be posted at Moto Concorso event headquarters tent in the Custom House Plaza Square. www.parks.ca.gov

The Custom House Plaza Park is a wonderfully relaxing setting – lounge under shade trees and enjoy the sounds of the wharf during the day.  This public park has scenic views of Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the Custom House Plaza and also offers Bocce Ball courts. Reservations can be had at the State Park office for the courts and balls.

The Maritime Museum offers free exhibits of early Monterey history and the fishing trade that started the famed Cannery Row. A special presentation is planned, narrated by the museums directors. Monterey’s famous historic district is a short walk from the Custom House Plaza area and features historic building dating back to California’s founding history.
